Library
The library is where your whole collection lives. PDFBook keeps it in sync with folders on your computer and gives you several ways to organize and find books.
Watched folders
Section titled “Watched folders”A watched folder is a directory PDFBook scans for PDFs. Add one and every PDF inside becomes a book in your library. Re-scan at any time to pick up files you’ve added, and removed books stay removed even after a rescan.
Organizing books
Section titled “Organizing books”Each book can carry:
- Tags — group books however you like (e.g. work, manga, to-read).
- Rating — a 0–5 star rating.
- Favorite — mark the books you reach for most.
- Reading status — Unread, Reading, or Completed.
- Notes & description — a free-text note plus a separate description per book.
Finding books
Section titled “Finding books”- Search by title across your library.
- Filter by tag, author, rating, status, and more.
- Sort by date added, title, and other fields.
- Switch between grid and list views.
Covers
Section titled “Covers”PDFBook generates a cover thumbnail for each book from its first page, so the library is easy to scan visually. Covers are generated even for encrypted books once you unlock them.
